Updated: 6-1-2024 (First review: 3-6-2017)
The Czech VR Network entails 3 virtual reality sites that come with a single subscription. The foremost of them is CzechVR. Another is Czech VR Casting. The network is owned by a company called Mental Pass, which hosts 9 adult sites in total.
Together the three VR sites offer well over 1300 videos, which easily makes them the largest provider of virtual adult content at this moment.
Quick summary
The Czech VR network offers more than 1100 videos from attractive but quiet Czech models in 3 main genres. Diversity isn’t great, but with near perfect image quality and frequent updates $24.95 a month is far from a bad deal!
Our rating: 7.4 / 10
1300+ videos (+3 weekly!)
620+ VR models
Excellent image quality
‘Moving camera’ technique
little diversity between videos
Poor website usability
1. Video quality (9/10)
The first Czech VR site went live in November 2015, which gave them plenty of time to get the technique right. Unlike most other sites we’ve reviewed though, Czech VR’s videos are quite consistent in quality all the way back to their very first video.
All three Czech VR sites fully meet the standard in terms of video specifications. They use the same shooting and postprocessing techniques, so the viewing quality is equal.
We sampled dozens of videos, not because we needed to – in fact, the first video we watched blew us away – but because we simply couldn’t stop. This says something about the quality of the contents of course (we’ll get to that later) but even more so about the image quality. It is stunning!
We haven’t seen videos this sharp and solid throughout the collection since we reviewed BaDoinkVR. With bright, vivid colors, the image simply is as good as it gets at this point.
If there is one negative point we can think of, it’s that the supposedly 180° viewing area is quite small, both from left to right as up and down. It doesn’t take much head movement to see the edges and the black space beyond them. This takes away a bit of the immersion and sometimes causes the models to partly ‘disappear’ into the blackness.
Video specifications:
- Type: Full stereoscopic 3D
- Resolutions: 3840 x 1920 (Oculus & Vive), 2880 x 1440 (GearVR), 1920 x 960 (Smartphones)
- Framerate: 60 fps
- Size: varies from 7 GB (1920p 60fps Oculus) to 1.6 GB (960p 30 fps smartphone)
- Video length: varies from 9 to 35 minutes
- Other: 180° FOV (read above), head tracking, binaural audio
2. Production quality (8/10)
Remember we wrote that we couldn’t stop sampling the videos? Well that also had to do with the production quality. Virtual reality might be innovative in itself, but we’ve seen little innovation with how it’s put to use on most sites, even on the big ones.
Czech VR however, experiments with different filming techniques to get the most out of virtual reality. For example they try to mix things up with the scenes in third person view (non-pov), where you watch others getting in on and sometimes join in on the action.
Even more interesting is the moving camera technique they use to make it feel like you’re actively moving in the scene. They do it very slowly and not too often so it doesn’t get annoying.
This allows them to add more interaction to the scene than is possible when the camera stays in the same place. For instance, the actor can slowly move towards the girl’s intimate area, or even get on top of her.. We hardly ever see this with non-moving camera’s, because they would have to cut the scenes up, which makes them less immersive.
While we think they could get more out of the moving camera technique than they currently do, we applaud Czech VR for exploring the possibilities!
The Czech girls are really aware of the camera and know making eye contact is important. However, very few of them speak English, so there is hardly any dialogue. It all feels kind of scripted and not very natural, which is a shame because the girls are clearly making an effort.
The video length varies from 8 to 40 minutes. We believe a VR scene should be at least 15 minutes, depending on the genre, in order to get settled into it and maintain a comfortable pace.
Sets and locations
Czech VR’s scenes mostly take place indoors in simple living rooms or bedrooms. Some of the videos are shot outside, since urinating in a room can get a bit messy (although, I doubt most viewers would mind). So, there is little variation there. The rooms look fairly nice and have a ‘homey feel’ to them, which makes it easier to imagine yourself there.
3. Collection quality (7/10)
One thing is certain, with over 1300 videos on the Czech VR sites, together they offer by far the largest collection of scenes with a single subscription.
On their current release schedule they add more than 3 new videos every week, which is a lot for VR. Usually they add 1 scene on CzechVR and 2 on CzechVR Casting. Keep in mind though that they’re often using the same models (and shooting) for different videos. The casting videos for example always have one solo scene and one sex scene, both recorded at the same room, but released as different videos.
This isn’t uncommon – we’ve seen other sites do it as well – but here it does bring down their video collection quite a bit. This is because here you have four supposedly different sites, that are, for a fair part, filled with the same content (well… same setting, same girls, different genre).
The casting scenes do add variation of course. In fact, CzechVR has the only adult VR site in this niche at the moment. However, throughout the scenes we see very little variety. The action, positions, it all feels a bit repetitive. And, as mentioned earlier, we would encourage Czech VR to get a little more creative with their moving camera technique.
Models collection
Not surprisingly, Czech VR’s models are mostly Czech and Slovakian girls. They are as you’d expect them to be: mostly white, young and slender.
On all three Czech VR network sites combined, over 620 different models feature in VR videos.
4. Ease of access (6/10)
When we first visited CzechVR, we were impressed with its intuitive look and feel. The site presents the videos on the homepage and does so in a very clean and simple way. We like that you can download trailers, see how the video is best watch (lying, sitting, standing), and the way they explain the video specifications.
However, as is not uncommon with adult sites, the actual content is not hosted on czechvr itself. This website functions as a promotional front and the videos, including those of CzechVR, CzechVR Casting, are to be found in the Mentalpass member section.
The Mentalpass member section is exactly the opposite of what we described above. It has an old fashioned, mobile unfriendly design and the interface is quite messy. On the video overview the small cover images make it hard to judge the video’s content and there is no way to filter or sort in any way. Neither is there a page where you can see all the models and the scenes they feature in.
Clicking on a video takes us to the video page, which also looks far from stylish. Here you can view the models and video tags and click on a tag to view other matching scenes. On the video page you can also play the video, which makes it easy to preview it before downloading.
CzechVR supports all modern VR devices as well as Windows Mixed Reality, which we don’t see that often:
- Oculus Quest 1 & 2
- Oculus Rift / Rift S
- HTC Vive Pro 1 & 2
- Playstation VR
- Valve Index
- Windows Mixed Reality
- Google Daydream
- Samsung Gear VR
- Smartphone (for cardboard variants)
The download speeds we got varied from 10 to 12 MB/s. This is not bad, but you might expect slower speeds when the server’s crowded.
Mentalpass offers streaming through the player on the video page. Gear VR’s internet browser recognizes it as a VR video and plays it in 3d mode. However this technique is still experimental and has a lot of hickups such as long load times, stuttering, shaking and lower quality. So we recommend sticking to manual downloading the scenes.
5. Value for the money (7/10)
A subscription to any of the Czech VR sites gives you access to the Mentalpass network, which includes CzechVR, CzcehVR Casting and 6 other sites. This means you’ll get access to over 1100 virtual scenes and hundreds of regular adult vids. With an update frequency of 4 new VR videos each week you won’t run out of porn anytime soon.
The CzechVR Network has manuals for the VR devices and provides support through e-mail.
Czech VR / Mentalpass is priced at $24.95 a month, $49.95 for 90 days and $84.95 for 180 days. They do not offer a trial subscription, but as mentioned you can download trailers of all their videos – which give very good impressions of the scenes- on the network sites.
Our verdict
Initially we were very enthusiastic about the Czech VR network. The video quality is near perfect and their moving camera technique really adds something to the experience. However, the lacking website usability and attractive but mostly silent ‘Czech only’ models, did temper our enthusiasm just a tiny bit.
Still, with a frequently updated collection of more than 1300 VR videos, for $24.95 Czech VR has a lot to offer!
